I'm sure they are, but in Google's defense (and a weak defense at that) it's hard to get accurate ages from online entities.

That's not defending what Google does in any way.

It probably has more to do with their use of the data and they still require consent. To be fair, they shouldn't be able to use any data on anyone without direct consent. And we all know they sell data to governments and other agencies without people's knowledge
