They damn well know that they have 0% of winning the Presidential election this cycle (a chicken in every pot) so what they are basically doing is batting a sacrifice fly ball.

When have you EVER seen so many communists running on completely un-American platforms (free healthcare for illegal beaners?!?) in your entire life? The only explanation is that the DNC is completely incompetent (possible) or that they are pushing these ridiculous platforms to move the goal posts for 2024.

We are going to spend the next 2 years listening to commie garbage 24/7 blasted out of every debate and every media outlet for the simple reason that after they get the public used to these policies through repetition, hence shifting the Overton window, that they will be able to legitimately run on this platform in 2024.

Yes the DNC (and their masters) may just be a bunch of incompetent morons but it seems to me that they are actually a bunch of seriously sneaky motherfuckers.

In 1924, a Socialist won almost 17% of the national vote for US President. I think this matter comes up every generation - and there's a reckoning of sorts. So far, the US has seriously considered and turned away from Socialism/Communism... in part, because it turns out so many of their high level supporters have used awful methods, deceit, and even criminal methods to try to win power.

Never forget to tell folks: Lenin used armed robbery to fund his revolution in the early days.

Communists and Socialists always purport to represent "the people" - but then use this "vanguard" concept to explain why the people are too stupid to lead themselves, and need an elite class to somehow bring about a classless society.

It always ends up that some are more equal than others, I fucking hate (((bolsheviks))).

Yes, I noticed that too. Esp all the "reparations" talk. It's pretty interesting because it forces the opponent to state the many good reasons why that is a nonsensical idea or give up. I think a lot of people need to hear those arguments.

They’re saying how they’ll give away free this and free that, while simultaneously wanting to get money out of politics.

They’re colossally retarded and have zero self awareness.

Very similar to the GOP run against 'bama when he was up for reelection - a bunch of largely useless wafflefaces that aren't going to do anything more than spouting the standard talking points of their party-of-origin in order to reinforce the memes living in everyone's heads.

But I'm sure someone's going to be standing up any minute now to remind me that there are two sides to every issue.

It may be a standard (cynical) policy that I am only noticing this election cycle but with the left's rhetoric so radical it's hard to not see it.

The “right did it too” is an intellectually deficient argument if you can’t provide any detail.

Care to articulate how they did it? I specifically recall watching debates for the past 16 years, but my memory is probably just fuzzy.....

I know it's become a popular notion these days to reject equivocation of the left and the right on some grounds of the left being "worse" (also, water may be wet, and we've theories regarding the breathability of air) but I'm not talking about "the right", I'm talking about the US Republican Party, specifically their 2012 primaries.

Literally the only person amongst them who was in any way memorable was Ron Paul and I'm pretty sure that's because he became a meme. Rick Santorum could've stepped on a spacetime vortex and been entirely erased from this universe as far as I know (I had to look it up - he works for CNN now apparently). Until a few minutes ago, I legitimately believed that Newt Ginrich had died.

Now, in fairness, I live in South Africa these days and there's sort of more pressing local geopolitical fuckery to sarcastically banter with the co-workers about, so perhaps all these people just went back to their respective states, towns, or small businesses and continued doing as they do.

But still, the point remains.

I get the same feeling from the current crop of dems as I did from the republicans in 2012 - that of the party knowing it's fighting massively uphill and intentionally setting out to fail forward; putting out candidates that resonate mainly (and almost exclusively) with their own core electorate; reinforcing mindshare as if it was a corporate advertising campaign - which I guess it pretty much is.
