New Social Networks Pose Threat To Mainstream: Over 40 Million Visits, 215 Million Page Views Per Month

The other day I wrote about the top up and coming social networks that allow freedom of speech online. These new networks seek to replace the ‘big-brother’ social media sites that want to dictate to us how we can communicate and which political opinions we should have.

As individual sites, the number of visitors and page views these new networks bring in are quite a bit less than the mainstream, but when you combine their statistics, things start to get interesting.

According to Similarweb.com’s online traffic statistics, new social networks (combined) reached over forty million visitors in June. And these networks are growing at a significant rate.

Let’s break it down. Check out the Poal Statistics.

Is there a breakdown of what OS/browsers people are using?

To get a feel for how many of us come here using Netscape on Amiga.

I am so behind the times. I really should pick up one of those X-surfs-500 for my ACA500+ side card so I can surf this new internet thing. Instead I am still stuck dialing up BBSes using a Wimodem232.

As far as I suppose, only @Sporkulon and I are using Amiga browsers to poal.

IIRC Netscape was never released on the Amiga OS, though announced hundreds of times (like Duke Nukem Forever)

I have been horrible. Haven't turned on an Amiga in over a month. I will have to boot my 3000 and at least browse Aminet.

I never actually could afford an Amiga back when they were still cool, instead using old junk... kind of the way I still do! I get all jealous seeing awesome cutting edge new rigs at my brother's house and stuff, but when it comes right down to it, I just spend all of my money on the house, cars, wife, and boat, pretty much in that order, leaving very little for silly frippery like techno-toys.

What's telling is the page views per visitor is more than double that of Voat.

Well Voat's been under heavy DDoS attack for weeks and keeps going down. It was down for several days. Now it's back and forth daily.
