It is RARE to find anything that is actually a "deal" on prime day. Using long-term cost tracking apps almost always show that the current price is higher than it was a month or two ago.

From the post:

>Amazon’s sales reportedly dropped 41% on the first day of its four-day Prime Day sales event compared to the first day of last year’s two-day event. Momentum Commerce reported that figure for Tuesday (July 8), with Momentum’s Founder and CEO John Shea saying that the sales numbers for this year’s longer event could still surpass those of last year’s shorter one, Bloomberg reported Wednesday (July 9). Reached by PYMNTS, an Amazon spokesperson said in an emailed statement: “Typical of statements made by third-party consultancies that don’t have access to the actual data, these numbers are highly inaccurate.” Shea attributed the drop in first-day sales to consumers putting items in their shopping carts but holding off on completing the purchase in case better deals come along, according to the report.

Yup. It was some time before 2020 when I last found anything worth buying on Prime day. Now I basically use Amazon for a product lookup, maybe some reviews. If it is something I want to buy, I can usually find it somewhere else for less money.

I always try to buy direct from the company if possible. It always costs a small amount more (Amazon requires this or they will de-rank your products and basically kill your brand). Amazon can fuck themselves. Ill pay a small amount more to buy direct and not let them be a middleman getting a cut.

That is assuming you find the original seller. Now there are a whole bunch of assholes who pay to get their links listed first, which is the same product from the same original provider, just some ass hat made himself a middleman for doing nothing but paying a bit of money to have people see their link and then charge twice as much.

Fuck them. The provide no value.
