There will be so much interesting archeology in the first 200' or so of Ocean. Interglacial sea levels are the exception, being this high for only 20k years or so out of each 100k years.

It's becoming increasingly likely that there was at least one civilization before ours. If that does turn out to be true, then it begs the question: how many were there before ours? Are we the tenth civilization, or the thousandth?
