In grade school my teacher had us put on black face for a play about slaves and be barefoot. The play was only for our classroom. The makeup was kind of greasy but was supposed to be theater makeup. The mulato in the class refused to wear the greasy makeup and the teacher let him get away with it. Not fair to those of us that had to wear it.
