From the post:

>The British government on Wednesday outlined plans to ban the sale of high-caffeine energy drinks to children, joining a number of other European countries in a move that it said could cut obesity, reduce anxiety and improve classroom concentration. The proposed restriction would apply to anyone under 16, the Department of Health said in a statement that began a formal 12-week consultation period with industry leaders and health experts. The measure would need parliamentary approval, which is widely expected and unlikely to require a vote.

This is probably not a bad thing. One of the few things the UK govt has done lately that makes some sense

It's a good idea in a vacuum but with what's been going on in their country lately it seems like comically misordered priorities.

Well given the fact that shit is frowned upon in the Muslim countries, I'm not surprised the jewK is on board.

Now ban Pakis from touching them.

A few years back same thing happened in Russia. Of all things to address the quality of life and the mountain of issues the modern kid faces today, the decrepit delusional office of fossils they call a government of course went for the easy "ban this shit we don't like" route. I only learned about it when a newbie store clerk asked me, a tall unshaven dude, if I'm of age. I replied, "I'm flattered, but what do you think? Am I 18 yet?". Suffice it to say I got my drink that day. I don't go for it often, but it's yet another humiliation ritual they're making us go through it seems. Sometimes I see zoomers get asked for their ids when they buy energy drinks and I die of cringe a little on the inside.

yeah, sometimes a moron kills themselves with too much caffeine. Making the state act like the "parent" is not the solution.
