“Plants take up a substantial amount of carbon dioxide (CO2) every year, thereby slowing down the detrimental effects of climate change, but the extent to which they will continue this CO2 uptake into the future has been uncertain,” cautioned Knauer.

Unless physics changes suddenly, they'll probably keep doing that forever. And I thought I was stupid.

Fun fact: greenhouse growers pump carbon dioxide into their greenhouses to increase yields. If we could increase CO2 in the atmosphere all life would benefit. Global warming would be wonderful if it were true.

Plants will suck up as much CO2 as you give them!

More CO2 plus more heat and sufficient nutrient equals faster growing and larger plants that use more CO2, and so on, until CO2 levels lower and plant output decreases along with it, and the whole thing just balances it's shit out because that's just how the universe works.

slowing down the detrimental effects of climate change

Lol, nope. CO2 does not control the climate. Not even a little bit. Changes in the climate, particularly the temperature and level of the Oceans cause the level of CO2 on the atmosphere to change. Humans can also change the CO2 levels, but it has no effect on temperature.

Higher CO2 would be great. Plants evolved to favour CO2 levels around 1000-1200 ppm.

But muh climate change is giving people heart attacks

The first step to not being stupid is realizing that you ARE stupid, and thus, , you are ahead of the curve.

Dammit. I can’t even be stupid right.

There is no stupid, Silly Bird. There is Christ and a Satori: sudden enlightenment and a state of consciousness attained by intuitive illumination.
