But the combined cycle turbine plants are the only grid-scale electrical source that can manage the intermittency of wind and solar... We have gotta build more solar! Nevermind, that the production of photovoltalics is break even EROI in the best of circumstances and that our national electrical grid becomes unstable with more that 15 percent intermittent sources. Also wind! We gotta build more wind turbines! Yeah, I know that they also have a thread bare EROI and that when the subsidies end on a particular wind farm, then just tear them down because they're unprofitable to run and maintain... Its ok, because we have to do something about the environment! What are you doing? You aren't even driving an uncomfortably small, gay, and uneconomical electric car! You people are the problem...
