I've been building for 37 years
I guess he doesn't know that stud length dimensional lumber is not the whole numbers we often call them by. Stud length 2x4s are 92 5/8" x 3 1/2" x 1 1/2" not 96" x 2" x 4". Stud length lumber is precut to standard lengths to accommodate the top and bottom plate in wall framing. It's a time saver to buy this precut lumber for studs so you don't waste time trimming studs to have proper ceiling height when properly framing walls. He should know that if he's been building walls properly for 37 years.
Is he gonna complain again when he learns 2"x4" is actually 3.5"x1.5" too?
I purchased a bunch of 8' 2x4s there. Imagine my surprise when the actual measurements were anywhere between 96" to 96.5", usually 96.25".
I wasn't surprised at all. What is surprising is that this bonehead apparently didn't put a tape to anything till he had finished framing. Amazing.

If you buy enough of them, you essentially get a free 2x4. Some assembly required though.
As with most woodworking these days, it's cheaper to get the prefab, what with the amount of glue you'd use... But it would be fun
Many of the comments point that out - the stud is cut so when you put the top and bottom on, you get the correct measurements with room for the floor covering.

I didn't bother with the comments, but I guess there are plenty of others who are not dumb asses like the guy in the rage-bait video. I'm not in construction, but I did get OTJ construction training as a teenager and this bit of knowledge has stuck with me for decades. Because of that, I immediately realized he's either lying or retarded, or both.
Good to know, though i do some woodworking no construction
