Cities are going to be a hoot!

We have created too many "single point of failure" systems. Just the other day a friend told me someone pushed a bad update to their Azure server and shut down MFA for hours so no one can get in. Everyone is pushing stuff up to the cloud and there is no means of failover.

I worked also in NERC-CIP for a while up until recently, the power companies had built manual automatic failovers (big switches that knew something bad happened so it manually switched over to keep power on) at all the substations but when compliance came along everything was pushed in the SCADA model so the now entire power company is a website that can be fucked with.

Single point of failure + no backup. I got a German machine at work, if something goes wrong, we don't necessarily need to stop the whole thing, + that one part of the problem, is just one problem.
