I find it amusing their channel name is "life uncontained" and they're building a container home.

Watch the following videos too (good editing and spirit):

idk how I feel about shipping container homes. Like I don't really get the value unless you specifically want that aesthetic. Traditional building materials would be less expensive. I've always thought the aesthetic always reminded me of a trailer home unless it's done really well. Some of the stacked ones w/ multiple floors are pretty cool.

Maybe they've got a good deal with these two used containers.

Good for them. The only visible mistakes I can see they made in the development of their property was lack of planning, not having a team, and failing to have temporary housing on-site beforehand. They're going to eventually pay for not rust proofing the inside of those shipping containers, metal corrosion is a pain and if they live in an area that experiences four seasons, the house interior will be very moist. I also don't want to imagine how much time could've been lost if either of them had gotten injured. I'm just surprised they didn't have friends or kin they could tap to help them with this though. However, the wife is an awesome gal for sticking it out with him through this and keeping their spirits up.

She’s definitely a keeper.

And for rust proofing they did it in another later video.

If you say so. Either way, they've got a nice house on their hands. This is something that should've been implemented more in the cities years ago. A thousand bucks per shipping container with a dollar per mile for delivery. A max operational life span of seven years, if unmaintained. Easy enough to build up, add on to, and dispose of if a new buyer isn't interested in the structure on the property. I can't imagine how many McMansions the banks and realty companies are sitting on because of boomer stupidity simply to keep the property rates artificially inflated. I bet the black flag riots didn't deflate the property costs by much, either.
