I have and I've used it to make moonshine a bunch of times now. It's a bit messy to do in the kitchen but it works very well.

If you're going to follow this guys example regularly to make Vodka you'll probably save yourself a good bit of energy by investing into a paint mixer attachment solely for mixing the starch mash. Potatoes soft enough to mash should be soft enough to puree by means of a hand drill with a paint mixer attachment.
