These parts are pretty much all made on my metal lathe, using random scrap shaft and some 50x5mm flat bar stock. For scale, the ID of the larger bearings is 12mm, the smaller ones ID 6mm. The shafts were partially machined first, then welded to the plate before being cleaned up and finished on the lathe again. I managed to get the long plate to be perpendicular to the shaft to within 0.1mm over its length with a little persuasion from a mallet. After welding, it was out of alignment by about 0.9mm over it's length, mainly due to metal shrinkage from the welding.

The inner shaft with the two bolt flange will be bolted to a piece of wood, such that the swing arm with the two pulleys on it will be free to move within a pocket in the wood. This mechanism will be used to tension a round belt that will run on the pulleys using a spring mechanism that I still need to manufacture.

You'll have to wait and see what it's eventually going to be for though... hopefully not too much longer to go on this project.
