That's an interesting article. I had an SSD where smart reported a bad block, but it was stated that it might be "ok" if it didn't happen again. Though I didn't trust the SSD after that, it appeared to work fine without further incidents though you never know. I suspect that a PSU of lower quality might have played some role as well.
