This reminds me of a trip to Rome. The wife and I were at the Piazza Navona and there was a dog doing the same thing. Everyone stopped to watch. (Or course, I was paranoid about pick-pockets, but it was still great to see.)

That would be what my dog would do. She is a runner and absolutely loves the water. For this reason, she doesn't get to leave the car without a leash. That, and she would run up to anyone for some loves and scare the crap out of them.
