For posterity's sake, make sure the link is directly to the art itself, and that it's where the art was originally posted. For example, don't rehost anything on Imgur. The problem with rehosting is that the link will eventually get recycled and will result in the unfortunate destruction of the post later down the line.

Also provide a link to the either artist's website or the source of the art in the comments. Make sure it points to the specific piece and not the artist's entire gallery. For pictures and music, a link to their post on DeviantArt, Artstation, SoundCloud etc. is fine. If you need examples, check out my post history.

Copyright Policy:

Crediting the artist is mandatory. If I see a post that doesn't credit the artist due to innocent forgetfulness, I'll probably link to the source myself and tell the poster to find the artist and post artwork with credit next time. If I see a post that takes credit for the artwork in said post and I find out that it isn't actually the poster's artwork, it's getting taken down; what comes with that is up in the air, but it could result in a warning, temporary ban or permaban, so don't steal other people's artwork.
