Pro tip: Don't brag to others about receiving a big pay out. Not to friends, relatives or coworkers. When I was married to my second wife, she told all her relatives that I had received a nice inheritance. ALL of my inlaws started bugging me about loaning/giving them money. Every family visit or gathering was the same shit. I finally got tired of it and blew a big chunk of it on an expensive sports car to shut them up. I enjoyed that car but I had really intended on holding on to that money and drawing interest or investing in something. I'm glad I'm not part of that family any more...
