I've scoured the web and asked all the AI's and can't figure this out. The manifold on my sprayer has 3 ports. The first goes to the wand gun sprayer and the middle one has a (supposedly) quarter turn cap on it, and the third has a hose attached that just goes back into the tank to recirculate for mixing purposes.

I want to add a line to the center port to go to a new nozzle I installed on the back of the quad. The problem is that I cannot get that (supposedly) quarter turn cap to turn. I have really reefed on the thing to the point I feel like it is going to break. I have turned, I have pushed and turned, I have pulled and turned. It just does not turn.

If anyone has experience with these things please help me out. How the hell do I remove this thing?

BTW, I tried to post this in AskPoal but it will not let me attach the picture because it does not allow link posts. Someone should fix that.

Probably stuck.

Have you tried WD40 and/or a heatgun on it?

What about the other turn caps?

It's brand new so it should not be stuck. It is plastic so I don't want to spray petroleum products on it. I did try the other ones with the hoses attached and they do not want to turn either.

According to Teejet, these quick connect/disconnect parts should be turned anti-clockwise.

If you bought that ag sprayer brand new but not from a store, it's possible that its previous owner glued them.

Try to spray them with Isopropyl Alcohol (IPA). It won't attack the nylon, but unbound the glue and the gasket inside.

It came brand new in the box, no reason they would glue it because it is there for adding an additional line. They just don't tell you how to do it! Which gives me an idea. I will look for the accessory boom that they sell and read it's manual.

Did you buy them brand new from a store?

I ordered it directly from the manufacturer, AgSpray. The manual does not say anything about how to remove that stupid cap. I'm going to go to Tractor Supply tomorrow and see if anyone there knows how to do it. They sell similar sprayers.

It's farming equipment, so you could try swearing at it and hitting it with a shifter.

Are you able to undo the other 1/4 turn fittings? You might be able to see how it's working. I would imagine that there is an O-ring that creates the seal and the cap has to compress the O-ring slightly to get over the latch bump. Maybe try pushing on it as you turn it. The O-ring might be a bit stiff. Other options... run warm (not too hot) water over it for a while, that might soften the O-ring. You could try spraying it with some soapy water, maybe there's some gunk in there that's sticking it shut.

I'll try the warm water and push harder when I try to turn it. I'm also going to ask at Tractor Supply tomorrow and see if anyone there knows. They sell similar sprayers.
