They'll never give up on this persistent lie that our warming earth is a globe.
Dude I'm scared. What if both happened at once!
Science is the modern religion. You must have faith not only in the Science told to you, you must have faith that the religious leaders are faithful and wouldn't lead you astray.
The difference between religion and science is that with religion, you must believe what you're being told without any evidence or demonstrable test results, whereas with science, you can actually produce demonstrable results or produce mathematical proofs.
If you know that gravity causes acceleration of 9.81m/s², understand aerodynamics, thermodynamics, can measure air density, mass, and thrust, you can cause and object to freefall sideways around the planet. You can't do shit with religion but what you're told like good sheep.
evidence or demonstrable test results
There is, but it is unique and very personal to every individual.
Then it's not objective evidence. That's where faith has to come in. The layperson typically goes on faith as well when it comes to science, but with science, you are not completely restricted to this.
But you can do most science experiments at home to prove to yourself that they're correct, you can't do that with religious stuff.
In religion, we can all come to a consensus of what is right and wrong. Science is no different. For E=MC² but yet you need to have faith in the dark matter. For it is written.
The second image is the one in error, when a spinning object becomes more distended, it slows down, just like when a spinning skater extends their arms.
I was going to say something similar.
I don't even care if I'm wrong anymore. I know one of them is, so I'm just going to sit over here thinking The Earth is spinning just the same as it always has.
What
Also, so what? the day already isn't exact, 24 hours is a shit measurement because we have to have a leap year to make up for it because it's not 24 hours exactly.
But instead of making a second fractionally faster we add an extra day in every 4 years. Fucking genius.
24 hours is correct for the solar day. ~365.25 solar days fit into one year. If you redefined the length of the clock day to be exactly 1/365 part of a year, then clock times would no longer be fixed to the solar day.
Oh it's just the years that are wrong, my bad duh.
Leap year is because the number of daytimes doesn't fit exactly in one year. You're thinking of the leap second, first implemented in 1972 when timekeeping became more accurate than the rotation of the earth.
