Absolutely. Not that's there's anything necessarily wrong with the film but it does not have anything close to the punch that the book has.

For sure read the book. That said, this film is about as true to the book as any I've seen. The mood is captured well and the message is strong. Bonus nude scenes with Suzanna Hamilton are worth the price of admission.
