I collect tools, Fiance collects videogames.
My tools have a chance of making the money back though so I don't feel bad expanding on the collection. The money I make from using the tools goes into getting more tools
The tools have inherent value. The games just due to scarcity and nostalgia.
To be fair, he is really good at videogames. I don't know how to get him interested in other stuff though.
My tools and skillset is a result of how feminism fucked with me. You might think its odd but I really love building and refurbishing. If i need work done on the house, I can do it myself. Now I live in moderate luxury despite low income. I used to make alot of money as a construction worker, now i make sandwhiches instead of taking up space in a male dominated industry.
I often wonder what my hobbies and life would be like if I didn't waste my youth on pursuing a career.
