When viruses mutate, they do so in their own best interests. It's in the interests of a virus not to kill its host. That way, spreading is easier, and viruses want to spread. It goes against common sense to believe that a variant of Covid-19 is suddenly going to become more deadly.
However, because the vaxes for Covid weaken your immune system, it may seem to those who are double and triple vaxxed that the latest variant is more deadly, because they are getting hit harder with it than they were with the original lab-made Covid.
