I noticed you didn't say anything about how to actually read either method. I'm guessing you would like for people interested to go look it up and figure that part on their own. Sneaky bastard.

There are ample resources to learn any of 'em - including some valid sources to learn the obscure ones, the ones from other cultures, and the many used throughout history.

It'd require a book, to even begin to touch on that. In fact, it does require a book and those books have already been written!

Yesterday, asked me how many alternate tunings were available for the guitar. I told 'em that it's pretty close to infinite and linked 'em to a page that listed hundreds of 'em. He hasn't spoken to me since!

There's a madness to my method.

I've been a little busy, reading and podcasting, and practicing. You didn't just point me to a list of alternate tunings yesterday. You gave me some chords as well.

LOL I also don't really recommend worrying about alternate tuning, at this point. I pretty much never use it, unless there's a very specific reason to do so. It's mostly a pain in the ass.

It's good to know about it, but I'd not worry too much about it.
