I've got an ancient (over 100 years old) handmade dual neck acoustic guitar with the top neck being four five bass strings tuned for resonance. The rear is supposedly made of an extinct dogwood. It has a unique sound and looks pretty cool. It was a hand me down from my dad's father, who came to America about 100 years ago. I love unique guitars. This 18 string son-of-a-bitch is certainly unique, when you're familiar with 6 and 12 strings.
I can't even really play 6 yet! Someday I'll try out something like this. Sounds like you have quite the gem of a guitar, like it should be in a museum or something.
I had it appraised about 20 years ago. They had no idea what it was worth. It needs tender loving care to restore it's vigor.
Holy shit thats cool, you should post it! I'd bet at least a few people would comment on it.
EDit: how do you play that?
