That's the song we did for this week's guitar thread and I figured y'all might want to hear it as well.
She no longer wants to be called my student, as she much prefers the term 'understudy.' So, she's my understudy and I am pretty proud of her, as she did an excellent job on this one.
Her learning pace is excellent and she's absorbing things almost as fast as I can teach her. There's not a whole lot of time that passes between her question and requests for a demonstration. She's very much a 'visual learner.' If she sees it a few times, or even just once, she's pretty good at wandering off and working on it until she is able to repeat it.
More importantly, she's asking a lot of questions about 'why.' "Why does this chord work?" "Why did the artist pick that chord, instead of this one?" "What makes these go together?" "Why does it sound like this when I put thirds and fifths together?"
Things like that.
From a personal point of view, it's great to see such an eager mind and a dedication to scholarship. She doesn't play guitar to please me. She plays guitar because she wants to play for herself. It's evident when I see how many questions she has and what she does with the answers.
So, I figured you Poaler Bears might actually enjoy that one. It has, of course, a bitchin' solo. She played it.
