Sad Face

Sad Face

(post is archived)

I remember the Musician's Friend catalog in the 90's advertised the Washburn DimeBolt "factory damaged seconds, these guitars may have some dings and scratches but Dimebag don't care!"

Cant you just get a good guitar and then get a vinyl wrap made for it or something?

Honestly IDK. Wrap might fuck with the vibrations of the wood. Now Im curious if people even wrap guitars.

On an acoustic your probably right but if your going for an electric guitar I'm pretty sure you can screw some pickups onto a 2 x 4 and string it up and it would sound mostly all right. I've seen several designs that were hardly more than a neck and a set of pickups.

YES. An electric guitar can be made of plastic, concrete, Formica, whatever.

I'm pretty sure that's how Fender got started, actually. For real.

'vibrations of the wood' HAHAHAHAHAHA

The sound comes from the PICKUPS. I have a Tele made of yellow pine...yes, shitty packing-crate pine, with TV Jones pickups, it sounds like a fuckin beast. The whole 'tonewood' myth is a fuckin joke. Just yesterday I put new TV pickups in my frens $200 Leo Jaymes guitar, it cranks like a motherfucker now. PICKUPS and AMP make the sound.

You could epoxy resin a fabric flag onto the body.
