I’ll come see a show someday
It's not very interesting, but you can wander around backstage. However, I have a habit of giving my guests an instrument and a microphone, at such events. If you have kids, even better. They're gonna be rock stars, baby! Rock stars!
(Don't worry, we have extra hearing protection.)
What we do is niche. We do high-end covers, with a big (for the area), and growing, production. We don't do bars (as a general rule) but larger things, like fairs and small auditoriums. This weekend, we're doing a "concert in the park" deal. We headline, actually.
Headlining the 4th show is impressive - except it's not, 'cause I just happen to know people. It's not nepotism, it's spending hard-earned social credit.
Oh the only instrument I know how to play with any proficiency is a djembe. But sounds like fun to me, I’m sure my youngest would rock out, she is constantly walking around the house making up songs an singing.
I ain't scared. The missus has a mic mute button. ;-)
