In an earlier time, Gibson was having some financial difficulty and we ended up with the Gibson SG. I just finished writing about the SG in a bit of a lesson, but didn't wish to dwell on their current financial woes. Unfortunately, they're privately held and it means I can't buy stock to show my support for the company. I'm a pretty big fan of the Gibson Les Paul models and have an absurd number of them.

So, sometime this week, I'll place an order with Musician's Friend and get at least one more GLP, maybe two. I don't really need them, but I'd like to support the company. I could easily go the rest of my life and not have to worry about not having a Les Paul to play, but I'll get at least one (maybe two) more.

Do you play?

No, I don't ... but saw this article and recalled you had a passion for such things, so tossed it out there. Me, I greatly enjoy music of most types, but alas, have zero talent in that area - LOL.

I am an unabashed Gibson Les Paul fan. I like all models, all years, and all colors. There is not one GLP that I don't like.

Kinda sadly this means I've ended up with a rather large collection of them. I have Les Paul models spanning the years - at least one of every major model type. I don't have one for every tiny variation, but I have them back to their original saddle and up to a model that can tune itself from 2013 and a Junior from 2017.

I have far more of them than I need.

I should probably go to some sort of 12-step program. I'm just as bad with Martin, and particularly bad with the D-28 model. Don't bother bringing it to a pawn shop. Just stop at my house and I'll pay fair market value and better than the pawn shop would have. And you'll save gas!

But, yeah... I have a passion. I love music. I'm not even able to imagine what my life would be like if I didn't play. I just can't imagine what I'd have done with all those hours or even guess what different experiences I'd have had.

Music has been good to me and I find that I get out of it what I put into it. I don't think I have "talent" so much as I've devoted (literal) tens of thousands of hours to playing.
