There are very few images or videos shared by people in and near lahaina as far as I can see. The assholes in charge have learned from covid and are keeping a lid on journalism, information access, and information sharing.

None of those pictures provided in the twatter/X links look like police or military checkpoints. The presence of a single military or police vehicle at an intersection or blocked road does not constitute a checkpoint. And as with all such images, there are no dates on the photos to verify they are recent and at the locations they are claimed to be at.
