Yeah it was when Great Britain decided they were going to pull up a 100 year old document to claim they had to defend Belgium (which they didn't) all because the current political party was about to lose their seats and a war would stop that from happening. GB stepping in triggered a fuck ton of treaties and BAM, world war I.
If GB didn't step in, Austria-Hungary, and Germany would've won the inter-continental struggle against Russia and Serbia and Germany would be the UK of today.
