An interesting video and project. Thanks for posting.

Nonsense. In Russia and everywhere else, they survived in groups. There are always advantages to survival in groups. There was never a time when people chose to leave his group by choice and go eke out an existence alone in the wastelands. Some cultures would send the very aged off to die in the wilderness, but that was not a survival strategy so much as a waste disposal method and a resource maintenance system regarding non-productive people and limited resources.

Even the Robin Hood types were not alone. Robin had his 'Merrie Men', his friar Tuck and of course, his Maid Marian to bang and to cook for him.

So this experience is not in any way a typical reenactment.

I was wondering why they chose for one guy to do it alone. Maybe no one else wanted to? Most people have shit to do rather than survive a whole winter with old tech.

Yeah, reading the ytube comments brings up that salient point - all people have lived in small close knit communities since forever - always and out of necessity for communal support/ effort and labor/ mental health etc. During some part of the experiment Pavel's mental health apparently got to breaking point and he killed the goat out of a fit of rage for knocking something over during the day. He recounted the event to the camera and the others in the monthly visit and how it was so unlike him, Lmao - no more milk but.
