Electrics used to be quite prevalent as city runabouts. That's what we need, not these supposed OTR replacement shitboxes. I'd buy a cheap little electric to drive around the city if it was priced in the 5-6k range.

Love that mercury rectifier, tho. Classic old-school.

The reason you can't buy a car for 5k are goveenment safety and emissions standards. In places where they don't give a fuck, you easily can

Yeah I know. Electrics won’t have emissions, tho. And all the extra crap car makers want to put in cars drives up the price

I just want a two seat cloth top with a bit of a trunk that maybe goes 50mph. Doesn’t even need a radio.

The closest thing you can get is a "motorcycle." "Motorcycles" which include 3 wheelers have lax safety and emissions regulations.

also why cars are 2500 lbs and not 600 lbs

Yeah that's my bigger peeve as well :)

Electric cars were not convenient to use in 1911 and they are still not convenient to use, for the same reasons. They don't go far enough on a charge, they take too long to recharge, the batteries die over time, the batteries are expensive to replace, and electric cars are shit in winter conditions. Nothing has changed. We need to re-learn the lesson learned in 1911 -- electric cars work, but they don't work well enough.

Electric bicycles and motorcyles could be realistic

Corn fueled jet packs would be better

If they had gone electric from.the start where would the technology be today? And the sand nigger Muslims would never have gotten rich and spread islam.

Everything we live on today was invented pre federal reserve.
