Propaganda got me hard up until 10-15 years ago. I grew up watching and adoring the stars and athletes who were all promoting diversity as a strength. It could have been more successful if the new immigrants were completely assimilated. But forced assimilation was never on the agenda. I learned later in life (much too late) what was the agenda. The plan was to divide, demoralize and break any sense of unity.

Article is still a boomer pipe dream. Non-whites always retained their ethnocentrism and it was inevitable that as their numbers grew they would seek to take hegemony from their White hosts. The 'melting pot' has always been a lie; balkanization and ethnocentrism has been the norm in how these immigrants behaved.

if you share no values nor goals with these diverse groups how can anything be done in a democracy when every single action taken will go against some groups values.
