Samuel Adams was one of the greatest men to ever live. We desperately need more men like him today, but alas we are weak and restrained by the comforts of the (((good times))) in which we live. Strive to be like Samuel Adams if only just a little bit.

“If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen.” Aug 1, 1776 State House of Phildelphia

Another one of my favorites:

“A general dissolution of principles and manners will more surely overthrow the liberties of America than the whole force of the common enemy. While the people are virtuous they cannot be subdued; but when once they lose their virtue then will be ready to surrender their liberties to the first external or internal invader.” ― Samuel Adams
