They need to get the same healthcare I get. Costs me nothing.
I have never paid for Obummercare, I went without insurance for 20 years, "self-insured myself" and paid the fines instead. Obummercare rates are determined by earned income. My annual earned income has been near $0 for 20 years (only interest on savings in a ZIRP economy). I could have had free Obummercare since its inception because my significant income has been exclusively long term gains and that is not treated as earned income. I would have had virtually free Obummercare while making an order of magnitude more money than those hard working folks who would be paying for it. I thought Obummercare was unconstitutional and wanted no part of it. If I had taken the free Obummercare, it would have been unethical in my mind so I flatly refused. Fortunately I have had no medical issues and came out on top with my money, my health and my integrity intact.
I'm anal like that. I've never collected unemployment, welfare or any other government subsidy or handout. It gives me a sense of old school pride to be able to say that, FWIW. Old school of the old schoolers I guess. I have a couple of friends/acquaintances on disability that could be working but continue to play within the system. I don't go near the subject around them.
I find it kind of amusing to tell people I don't have any insurance. It's a "Does not compute" thing.
Had someone argue with me that I probably had it and just didn't know about it. Asked "Well it costs 1950$ a year in premiums and they're not taking that from my paycheck, so I don't think I do."
DOES. NOT. COMPUTE. How could someone at your age not have insurance? What about your medications?
lol what a fucking idiot. Don't take any.

Lol! i've seen that exact same look and also found it quite amusing! They were intelligent people who just couldn't fathom it.
I think we think a lot alike, stupidbird. I'd truly enjoy a friend like you IRL.
