and had gone “undetected” by Hezbollah for months.
The source said about 3,000 of the pagers exploded when a coded message was sent to them,
That's jewish damage control. They intercepted and booby-trapped a pager shipment for Lebanon.
They assumed it was for "terrorists" when in fact most of these devices ended up being sold to hospitals and used by doctors and nurses.
They just triggered them all, hoping it would at least kill some of Hezbollah "terrorists".
Too clever by half.
It's far from being clever, and quite the opposite (a very stupid move), as it is now backfiring, and will amplify the anti-jewish sentiment around the world that got out of hand since they carpet bombed Gaza.
Clever military operation if the schene had worked and only impacted Hezbollah operatives. Yes, the world will not be pleased if Israel is purposefully or inadvertently killing/maiming innocent Lebanese. If Israel was so clever they should have seen this coming and cancelled the operation because of concern for innocent life. Today, radios are said to be exploding, and more civilians may be impacted. The repercussions have yet to begin.
