They’ve always been quite left wing, but traditionally that just meant labour unions and support for things like the NHS. Since devolution in 1997 the SNP have managed to turn the place into a one party state. Their only real aim is to win independence from the U.K. for Scotland, but they adopt every trendy left-wing cause to maintain their credentials I guess. The Scots need more nationalist parties or there needs to be an acrimonious split within the SNP. Highly unlikely they’ll gain independence anyway but if they do doing so as a one party state will not be good for them.
