There is nothing to understand except you don't actually reassign your gender or sex. It stays the same. These surgeries enable you to pretend you changed you gender. Rather, what you are doing is mutilating yourself. That is a mental disorder. People are not interested in facts. Facts are boring. What's exciting is a new adventure where you have no clue what you signed up for. The victim must lie to themselves, society needs to continue lying to them and not allow reality to show itself. The victim simply is not allowed to express remorse. The pretending they started with just continues unabated. Encouraging anyone to change their pronouns is a step into mental illness. Don't do it.
