I had a co-worker that bought one of the ARC cards but I think he was only using it for transcoding or something. I have read that they have been kind of shit (mostly driver problems). I have not had the urge to mess with one at this point and don't really have a reason to.

Windows side is having driver issues. They're having to write everything literally from scratch. Linux side, the open source nature of the driver means quicker progress and better usage of the card.
