I have no experience with this distro. Its a ubuntu base so I would wonder what it is like compared to Mint which has been around for a long time and has a strong user base.

Honestly, this is the first time I have even read about this distro so I am looking into it but I doubt I will put it on anything other than maybe a VM just to kick the tires.

It kind of looks like they are trying to make it look like Windows 11.

Graphical applications are installed via Flatpak, and keep themselves separate from the base system (Since 1.3). They also allow for fine-grained control over their permissions.

I don’t like this idea. I use Flatpak apps when I have no better alternative. In some cases Flatpak removes a lot of package maintenance work for the developers, but it also brings container problems. Here they write about containerized apps as though you get better security (sometimes true) with no downsides.

It looks like they’ve chucked out Snap though. If true I’ll give them credit for that.

I could be wrong, but to me it just sounds like base Buntu with flat pack support turned on.

Other than Mint I don't mess around with a lot of the various desktop distros. Most of my server stuff is Rocky now or in some cases Debian (not a spin).
