But for finger hovering, only a few phones ever had it:
- Sony Xperia Sola (early 2012)
- Samsung Galaxy S4 (early 2013)
- Samsung Galaxy Note 3 (late 2013)
- Samsung Galaxy S5 (early 2014)
It is another dimension of touch, similar to 3D touch. It had so much potential for use cases and possibilities, but manufacturers just ditched it, because some Internet trolls hired by Apple scolded it into the ground.
However, the Chromium browsing engine on mobile is still compatible with it.
