About 87% of Americans take the standard deductible. This would be no help to them. Those who are more likely to itemize are high earners and less likely to need this help/incentive. So less income (more debt) for the government and no help to the working class (in most cases).
This will stimulate massive domestic auto production

How about getting rid of CAFE standards and overbearing safety standards on cars... you know things that would actually make cars cheaper. :)
