The gambling industry is dying because it is anachronistic in this age of digital (((entertainment))). Younger people don't have any interest in what vegas has to offer so they don't go to the casinos, mega-hotels, washed-up-has-been stage shows and overpriced shopping venues. Vegas did not adapt their business model to the modern day and they will perish when the boomers are gone. Even GenX doesn't give a shit about vegas so there's nothing to save them in 10 or so years. Nothing of value lost.

The convention centers might be the only things left standing. Vegas is well equipped for large conventions. If the casinos crumble and local prices go down it will be even better for conventions.
