Here's a quick project. Very simple, but should come in handy. Basically, it's a plate that can be clamped in a vise (typically of the bandsaw) to hold small or oddly shaped stock.

It's made from a short length of heavy C-section steel that's roughly 6" x 2" and around a foot long. https://pic8.co/sh/X7SmA7.jpg

The sides were cut down so that a T-nut would clear underneath, the underside was also cleaned up in the middle so that there was a clean and flat surface for the T-nuts to seat on.

Then the top was fly cut flat. This wrecked one carbide insert point, mainly due to cutting through rust as several passes were required to get a flat surface. There was about 1mm of a dip in the middle. https://pic8.co/sh/PcAzvb.jpg

Then a 14mm slot was cut in the center to fit the T-nuts from the clamping set I got with the mill. https://pic8.co/sh/PPAIYO.jpg

Now it can be used to hold small parts in the bandsaw, and potentially be used as a part holding pallet in the mill for light duty work (clamping it too tightly could cause it to flex unacceptably). https://pic8.co/sh/9x39Mm.jpg

Here's a sneak peek at something else I've been working on. It's finished, just need to sort out the photos and write it up. https://pic8.co/sh/S4nh4t.jpg
