I watched five minutes of Avater 2 this morning. I was amazed at how bad the CGI is. They haven't improved it even a tiny bit over the first movie. In fact, it looks much worse to me. Granted, I'm watching a low-res pirate copy, but I was looking at the way the birds fly and animals move, the facial expressions of the blue people. It sucks! Animation in Assassins' Creed and God of War is much better. Also, I had no interest at all in the beginning of this movie. Zero. I think this is going to be a flop on the level of Strange World and The Rings of Power.
Funny, I always said "Avatar" was "Fern Gully" meets "Dances With Wolves".
It just amazed me how much was predicated on the evil Whypeepoe of the future being stupid.
Okay, so, you have the biology and technology to vat grow exact replicas of native blue bodies that you can then remote control, but you can't whip up a chemical or disease that can just wipe them out? Or just makes them too sick to resist? Uh-huh.
You have interstellar space travel and a shuttle capable of leaving the atmosphere, but requires you to come down low enough that the flying lizards can get at you? Uh-huh.
You have mining equipment, but somehow lost the technology for tunnel-boring that would allow you to completely avoid the native flora and fauna altogether? Uh-huh.
I have seen the future. And it is stupid.
