Actually I view this as a rather benign and friendly and more realistic view of what the post World War II decades were like and they're realistic interpretation of Germans as just Europeans on the other side. In this case they made them seem kind of stupid and incompetent in the local prison camp but they were by no means evil and the false crazy nonsense about the Holocaust and everything had not begun. You'll notice there's never a mention of the Holocaust or the killing of Jews or anything like any of this in this 1960s TV show. It wasn't until the miniseries called the Holocaust what's wrong in the 1970s where that b******* really started. Hogan's heroes which was a much more realistic view of Germans albeit with some stupidity thrown in for comic effect and just to show that our guys were better than their guys. But they were considered relatively harmless Europeans trying to win a war for their side and occasionally one of their generals would come in who is no longer stupid and kind of confirm that point.

In fact Hogan's heroes is often used as proof of the fact that the Holocaust was all bs created later in the 70s because this show was obviously made by the Jewish producers of the day and they never would have made a comical harmless group of Germans as comic relief in any show if any of that stuff had been true. And in fact one of the members of the cast of Hogan's heroes actually had a German POW prison camp tattoo on his arm and he was Jewish and you know he never would have been part of anything that treated German so lightly and in a friendly way if any of that nonsense about the Holocaust and the fake horros of those prison camps had been true

I seem to remember that the television series Hogan's Heroes was based on a movie about prisoners in a German prisoner of war camp.

Well said. This is why I come to Poal.

You forgot Combat, Rat Patrol, Hogan's Heroes and so many full-length movies with sinking ships, flying aircraft, heroic rescues, etc.

If you can find it, the late 70s BBC drama "Secret Army" is an excellent WWII show. It talks about a fictionalized version of the Comet Line, people in occupied Europe that helped get downed allied airmen back into home territory.

It by no means portrays anyone in a good light, and if anything it shows the Germans in a noble, albiet brutal light. The hero of the story is a man who is doing this because he feels it's the right thing to do, but also because he's been promised a sum of money to pay off his restaurant at the end of the war.

I don't remember anything being said about the holohoax.
