This sounds like such a weird fire issue. Water getting into the "lift gate control computer" causing a fire. I wonder why it's only Cherokees and not Grand Cherokees of the same year too.

I had a pinto, actually two. My memory of the recall was for a shied over a bolt. Anyway none to speak of ever caught fire. It was just a rear end collision thing the few time it may have happened.

I don't know, but cars are sounding very dangerous these days. Especially EVs.

Man I saw a video of one on the freeway that had multiple explosions, fuck batterys. The cars are actually heavier also.

My very first car was a used 1971 Ford Pinto sedan. 2L 4spd sedan. I had the recall done to put a black plastic shield in front of the gas tank. Loved that car. Drove it like I stole it. I never got rear ended to find out if the recall worked.
