There is probably some sort of correlation between sightings of unusual phenomena, like deep sea fish appearing on shores, with significant calamities (most probably earthquakes or volcanic eruptions). Though that does not necessarily mean that such a sighting is conclusive evidence of an imminent event. But, it could be something similar to how birds freak the fuck out shortly before an earthquake. They can sense something that we cannot, or that we do not notice. Fish may be able to sense disturbances in Earth's magnetic or electrical fields, perhaps this disorients some fish, resulting in deep sea fish washing up on shore lines where they normally wouldn't.
We are heading into a Grand Solar Minimum. Regional and even global calamities are highly likely, not only in the form of very harsh Winters and severe weather, but also earthquakes and volcanic eruptions are significantly more likely. These could happen any time now, or they could happen in 15-20 years. But, there are already rumblings (literally) of significant volcanic activity in the Mediteranian, Iceland, Africa, etc.
