The fan remake called The Last Hope was pretty damn good, with all the SJW, Leia's magic flying through space (1940's style), and interracial bullshit removed. It's about 30 minutes shorter. It's probably hard to find these days.

A lot of people focus on how this movie messed with the 'Star Wars' lore, which it is did, but lore aside the movie was an astounding cinematic failure. Rian Johnson is a hack. It's ridiculous a big money company like Disney let him anywhere near this franchise. It is even more incredible that Kennedy still has her job.
